When we draw near to the righteousness expressed in God’s Word, we experience an inner wellbeing called joy. In contrast, when sin and foolish acts become our choice, they produce guilt and shame which steal our joy. We are encouraged to stay away from the joy blockers: idols, intentional sin, unwise choices, and isolation.
