There are two primary reasons why the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ was necessary. First, by being born of Mary, it ensured that Jesus was a king born in the Davidic line. Second, by being born of the Holy Spirit, Jesus did not have a sinful nature, or sinful flesh, like the rest of humankind, and therefore was able to be the sinless Messiah.
