The Bible is clear that we should not lie. The Devil is the father of lies. Lying is part of our sinful nature, but when we lie we should confess our sin, receive forgiveness, and rectify any wrong we have caused. Rare exceptions are seen in Scripture where it is appropriate to lie in order to protect life.
