Abraham’s sons Ishmael and Isaac are representative biblical foreshadows of two peoples, Arabs and Israelites, who strive against one another culturally. They also represent two realms, the earthly and heavenly, that strive against one another spiritually. Another foreshadowing example is God’s judgment on the evil people of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire and brimstone pointing to His judgment on unrighteous people in the lake of fire.
