This is an on-site teaching about how God used Gideon, seemingly a nobody from a poor family, to defeat a large enemy army that was oppressing Israel. So that Israel would not boast in the victory being theirs alone, God orchestrated a strategy for Gideon to lead a mere 300 soldiers to attack in the middle of the night and bring about a great victory.
