Manners & Customs series: Biblical Names and Appellations

by | Feb 9, 2010

Biblical names can be complicated. A child born in biblical times was given one proper name, with his father’s name attached at the end for identity clarification. Beyond designating how a person was known, biblical names could describe a person or reflect one’s circumstances. Names could be changed later in life to describe life experiences, like Job. The greatest of all names is Jesus Christ.

Verses: John 6:42; Gen. 25:25

Teacher: John Schoenheit
