Figures of Speech Used in the Bible (Metonymy)

Metonymy is a figure of speech employing the use of the name of one thing instead of the name of another. Examples from Scripture as well as from modern vernacular are explained. By studying the context and subject matter, we can recognize this figure of speech and more clearly understand the Word of God.
