We are all affected by what we see and hear. There is a multitude of influences coming at us every day from the news and media, and most of them are negative and tend to produce fear and worry. But instead of listening to the voices of the world, God encourages us to not look around at what everyone else is saying but to hearken to his words and to trust in him.
