Context in Scripture – Understanding the Word of God

by | Oct 7, 2011

By extracting verses from the Bible without considering their scriptural scope, context, and vocabulary, people can and do make the Bible say just about anything they want, sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally. When reading the Bible, God deserves our heart, time, and effort to make sense of its meaning, with a view toward helping others come to trust in it.

Verses: Gen. 31:49; Ps. 14:1; Jer. 18:11; 29:11; Rom. 5:16, 18; 8:1; 2 Tim. 3:16
