In this session, we see how Samuel grew and served under the high priest Eli. But Eli was weak, his sons were corrupt, and the people were not taught how to obey God. Still, the Lord worked with Samuel, who became well-respected for his godliness. Although Samuel did teach Israel how to live by God’s Law, they rejected God and requested a king to rule over them.
