For centuries, philosophers and theologians have discussed the issue of “What is the real you?” One of the ways the Bible describes the real you is as the “inner self.” The inner self gets “fed” and shaped by what we allow ourselves to think, the decisions we make, and the things we are exposed to. To live a peaceful and joyful life, we have to take charge of our inner self (control our thinking), and take charge of—to the best of our ability—what outside influences we are exposed to.
