In the Revised English Version Bible, the word “perseverance” appears 7 times in the Church Epistles. For 6 of them, the Greek word is hupomone, meaning “steadfastness, constancy, endurance.” The Apostle Paul provides a vivid visual example of perseverance, from his itineraries as described in Acts to his own descriptions of his trials and hardships in 1 and 2 Corinthians.
