The Old Testament Sabbaths and Feasts
At the time of Moses God instituted a number of Feasts and Sabbaths (days where no work could be done) that were interspersed through the year, and other feasts were added in time. The details of the feasts are not well understood, in part because there is no one place in the Five Books of Moses (Genesis through Deuteronomy) that a person can go and read about them. But when the information is presented in an ordered and understandable way, we can see why God speaks of “serving” the Lord; it is a lot of work, but God deserves it.
