Romans 9: God’s Mercy to Israel and Gentiles
Romans 9 gives an explanation of how God had blessed the Jews, but they rejected Him anyway, and it also shows that God used that opportunity to bless the Gentiles. In order to understand this section, the reader must have a very good grasp of the Old Testament and the places that Paul drew his quotations from, because they were picked very carefully. A huge key to Romans 9 is in verse 14: “There is no unrighteousness with God, is there? Absolutely not!” God is righteous and merciful, and that is shown in Romans 9.
