Mary’s Magnificat

Soon after arriving at her cousin Elizabeth’s house, Mary responds to Elizabeth’s prophetic word with an incredible series of statements magnifying Yahweh. In the section of Scripture traditionally called “The Magnificat,” we see Mary’s heart of praise and thanks to Yahweh for the blessing of being chosen as the one to bear the Messiah, and for Yahweh’s mercy and faithfulness to his promises.
