Snow, snow, snow!
If you live anywhere in the United States, you’ve probably heard that word at least a LITTLE bit in recent years. Maybe you live in a snow-prone area or maybe it’s just been on the news and social media – but for those in the path of winter weather, snow can be anything from a minor to a major inconvenience, causing travel disruptions and delays, hazards to health, cooping people up, and more. And isn’t that just life? If it’s not the weather, inconvenience will rear its head SOMEWHERE – in work, school, relationships, health, hobbies, you name it.
The thing is, we live in a unique era of history where modern conveniences have removed a lot of our exposure to regular inconveniences as a necessity of life; and so, when inconveniences of a sort DO happen, as they’re prone to, we may find ourselves out of practice with graciously handling them and maintaining a godly perspective in the process.
This week, our encouragement to you is to be mindful of where your mind goes when you’re faced with inconveniences. Do you think your kneejerk reaction to being inconvenienced is how Jesus would have reacted to the many inconveniences that would’ve arisen during his life?
If not, this is a great opportunity to invite God’s transformative power into your heart and mind. He is so faithful and SO good, and He will teach and guide each of us to handle inconveniences of all kinds with grace and godliness if we are willing to put forth the effort to grow.
