Balaam, King Balak, and Yahweh

In the 40th year of Israel’s wilderness wanderings, the people of Israel ended up across the Jordan River from Jericho, in what is known as the plains of Moab. Balak, the king of Moab, was afraid of Israel and hired a prophet named Balaam to curse them. Yahweh, Balaam, and King Balak are the major players in a true and informative drama—a battle of wills that resulted in Balaam blessing Israel.
