Believers have a great comfort from God: He accepts us the way we are. But we also have a great challenge: God wants us to become like Christ. Many people love the first part of the equation, but they struggle to be like Christ. Of course we have to fight our sin nature to grow in Christ, and that can be difficult. We fail a lot. But Scripture gives us the remedy for that: we let go of our past mistakes and press forward for the goal.
