In the Old Testament, God commanded all the men of Israel to appear in the Temple three times each year: Passover, Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles lasted seven days, but Pentecost, also called the Feast of Weeks, occurred on only one day. God chose that day to pour out His gift of holy spirit!
